Amy Lyn Thompson, L. Ac
NYS Licensed Acupuncturist & Chinese Herbal Medicine

Amy Lyn Thompson is a New York State Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist. Before she decided to pursue Holistic Medicine as a career, Amy studied Biology at Stonybrook University.  


Amy earned her Master’s Degree (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City.  Through the rigorous four year curriculum consisting of over 2800 hours of training in acupuncture, herbal medicine and practical clinical experience, Amy has become knowledgeable to treat a wide range of health conditions.  


Amy provides an interdisciplinary, holistic approach to health care by combining acupuncture with adjunct therapeutic modalities like cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, electric stimulation, Tui Na (Chinese massage) and Eastern Nutrition.  She has also extensively studied Applied Channel Theory under students of Dr. Wang Ju Yi, author of Applied Channel Theory in Chinese Medicine.  


Amy is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine.  She received her Clean Needle Technique certification for the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Commission (AAOM).  


A Diplomate of Oriental Medicine is a practitioner who is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM®) and has met the certification requirements for both acupuncture and Chinese herbology. It is a considerable professional achievement to earn the designation Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). NCCAOM certification indicates to employers, patients, and peers that one has met national standards for the safe and competent practice of acupuncture and Chinese herbology as defined by the acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM) profession.
